How Post 144 gives back
Our hall rental income and member support fund two long-running community charities.
American Legion Baseball
Post 144 has proudly sponsored an American Legion Baseball team since 1957, giving generations of Belmont-area youth the chance to play organized baseball and represent the Legion on the field.
Boys State & Girls State
Each year, Post 144 sends two boys to American Legion Boys State and two girls to Girls State, week-long civic and leadership training programs for rising high school seniors (typically attending the summer after junior year). Students run mock city, county, and state governments, gaining hands-on experience in how government works.
